DESCENDANT TOWER

Rising from the historic grain of the City of London, this tower asserts itself not through sheer mass but through the precision of its geometry and the dynamism of its ascent. The building's primary structural expression is a series of stainless steel fins — each uniquely faceted — that lean, splay, and rotate as they climb, performing as both load-bearing armature and architectural skin. No two fins are identical; their collective geometry unfolds with the logic of a natural system, converging toward a needle-sharp apex that dissolves the tower's mass into sky.

The form tapers deliberately as it rises, growing visually slender with altitude — an effect amplified by the reflective quality of the steel, which absorbs and fragments the surrounding cityscape into its surface. Integrated into the facade's rhythm are terraced balconies alive with hanging vegetation, a cascading green counterpoint to the tower's precision metalwork, softening its scale and asserting a commitment to biophilic urbanism at height.

The building operates as a duality. Three facades — open, luminous, and transparent — are clad in glass and structural steel, oriented toward the city. The fourth, a cast concrete monolith, consolidates all service cores, vertical circulation, and back-of-house functions into a single disciplined plane, liberating the remaining elevations entirely.

At street level, three copper entry portals announce arrival with ceremony. Capsule-like in form, each encases a revolving door within a warm metallic shell — a moment of material contrast and tactile richness that grounds the tower's soaring ambition in the human scale of the pavement.
